This is a story about two Young Players with exceptional ability and the difficulties & Challenges they face with or without the support of thier famlies...A saga of Friendship, Competition, Family and Loyalty that addresses the young atheletes of today....both on and off the courts...

Our story begins...

Once upon a time in a community that is like everyone across the United States there lived a family who’s Dad was obsessed with the game of basketball. Across town their lived a family who’s obsession was with making a quick buck any and everyway they could. This is a story of how the two worlds come together around the lifestyle of basketball. Our story begins on what was one of the most beautiful days a mother and father could ever hope for, That day was September 28, 1991 it was a warm Saturday afternoon and Janae and Ja’Cee gave birth to their son J’Air Johnson, his father holds his son, the words that came to his mind were look at my franchise player, and his mothers first words were my healthy son. The phone rings and Janae answers it, hello? hello sweetheart how are you? Fine mom just a little tired, and how did my son-in- law hold up? Great mom he was right there for the whole deliver. You mean to tell me that he didn’t faint? Ja’Cee hears his mother-in-laws comment and answers into the phone, Oh that’s really funny mom! But no I didn’t faint when my little franchise was born. Janae with a look of concern quickly speaks to her mom, well any way mom I’ll talk to you a little later when I’ve rested, OK you know me and your father love you. Ja’Cee? Yes Janae, what do you need baby? I need to know why you call our son a franchise? Ja’Cee raising his voice a little "WHAT DO YOU MEAN BY THAT!" Just as the nurse walks in Oh, excuse me I can come back, Ja’ Cee says thank you, and Janae answers, no you can stay, Ja’Cee with a frown walks out the room. This is the first of many fights over their son but evidently not the last!

Sunday October 24, 1991 was a day some say the greatest player to play the game of basketball in the City was born; some will tell you that was the day the second best player to play the game of basketball in the City was born. This topic was one that was debated at a lot of donut shops around the City.

"DOMINIQUE YOU BETTER HURRY UP AND GET ME TO THE HOSPITAL!!" Diana clam down I’m coming, I had to grab your suite case. One hour later come on baby push, push, I can see his head oh my God that boy has a big head, WHAT!! Screams Diana another boy as Diana looks at the Doctor "WHAT HAPPENED TO MY GIRL, YOU SAID THE ULTRA SOUND SAID IT WAS A GIRL!" as she screams in pain. Diana breath remember what the Doctor said, Forget that Doctor... you told me about my baby, and if I could reach you I’ll bust you upside the head. OK he’s here all 24 inches and 18 pounds of him. Thank you Doctor as Dominique shakes his head, pay no attention to my wife you know how women get, excuse me Doctor, the father has a call...  he can take it in his room. Thank you nurse, Hello? Yeah what’s! it's a boy, really me too, yeah my little franchise was born ...congratulations? Well alright I’ll talk to you later Bye. Dee guess who that was on the phone congratulating us. Who baby? That was my brother, I guess they let him use the phone because we had the baby! you know how hard it is to get to the phone when your locked down. Yeah I know Nique that was nice of them.

Ja’Cee can you run downstairs and get J’Air bottle yes I can anything for my franchise. Uh I mean my son... just as Janae looks at him and frowns, Ja’Cee runs out the room and down the stairs. Where is his bottle as he stands at the bottom of the stairs and looks up. Oh my God you’re killing me Ja’Cee, look if it was that funky basketball of yours you would’ve tore the house apart to find that but, you can’t look right here on the couch , dam sometime you get on my last nerve, has she walks out the room and back up the stairs. Ja’Cee just looks up at the stairs in disbelief. Ja’Cee picks up his basketball sits on the couch and starts to toss it up in the air and catch it and toss it back up in the air. Upstairs as Janae puts a sleepy J’Air to bed she calls her mom to talk and cry just a little, Hello mom I'm fine, how are you? Yes well mom how did you put up with dad and his love for sports? Well tell mom what happened? Better than that... me and your grandson will be over in about an hour... BABY are you sure that you feel good enough or strong enough to come over. Mom I will be their in an hour. Janae starts to get the baby and herself ready to go has Ja’Cee walks in the room were are you going? To my moms house to visit. OK cool you taking J’Air with you? Yes. Good! know I can get some sleep. Janae looks at her husband in disbelief and goes downstairs and out the front door. Mom, mom where are you at I have your grandson, Hey baby oh! Look at grandma’s little man. Ok Janae what’s wrong? And don’t try to lie, because I’m your mother and I know my daughter. Well its Ja’ Cee he acting like a @#*&%, Mommy knows Janae Ja’Cee is acting like a man. But I don’t understand he’s so happy to have a son, Baby mom thought she taught you a whole lot more about men than that. You see Ja’Cee is living through his son, remember how depressed he got when he hurt his knee in college? Yes but I thought that was a phase, No baby that is how men are, when they lose something that they love they get emotional in a different way, especially when it comes to sports. Let mommy go put Ja’Cee down in the room so we can have a heart to heart, Mother to Daughter. Come here and sit with me on the couch, putting her hand on Janae’s knee looking closely into her daughters eyes, what I’m about to tell you must stay between me & you and the front door ok . Ok mom what is it? Your Dad had a chance to go pro in baseball but he hurt his back and in his time they didn’t have all the fancy medicine that they have know, so mom what happened ? Well your Dad was so upset that he was depressed for about four months. Why mom? Because your Dad thought he would not be able to take care of his family the way he wanted to. So what did you do mom? Well I became his strong black women to lean on and no matter what he did I supported him whole hearted even if I didn’t believe in it 100%, but I never doubted him. But mom it seems like you did... if you didn’t believe in it. See that’s how women of today think, Just because I don’t like it, or believe in it, it does not mean I think its going to fail. So mom you’re telling me to just let Ja’Cee be Ja’Cee? Exactly I know my baby got it. They both sit on the couch laughing as the phone rings, Hello? Oh hold on...  mother hands daughter the phone, while whispering remember what I said. Hello? Yes what Ja’Cee? Yes were on our way home right now.

Across town...Nique where are you going now? Baby I need to get on the grind... money don’t make itself I make the money. But Nique since the baby been home you haven’t taking up more than two minutes with your son. LOOK DON’T RISE YOUR ...
